On 5 June, we were proud to be part of the Fresh Produce Journal’s Festival of Fresh, one of the most respected gatherings in the UK produce calendar. With over 250+ senior industry figures in attendance, the event was packed with insight, innovation, and vital discussion.
A particular highlight of the day was the presentation of the Editor’s Award to John Shropshire OBE — a true industry hero and legend!
Recognised for his outstanding achievements and leadership, John has been instrumental in advancing fair, sustainable practices across our sector — from championing seasonal labour provision to co-founding the Modern Slavery Intelligence Network (MSIN) and TIAH – The Institute of Agriculture and Horticulture. A well-deserved accolade.
A big thanks must go to Worldwide Fruit Limited and FreshLinc Ltd for being great hosts and the whole Fresh Produce Journal and Fruitnet team for setting up the event.
