We were proud to be on the ground at Groundswell 2025, capturing bold ideas and forward-thinking voices through our video interviews and photography. What emerged? A clear message: the future of farming is regenerative, data-driven, and community-powered.

Regenerative Farming Is Going Global
From Brazil to Poland, farmers and scholars are embracing regenerative practices—not through rigid definitions, but by aiming to do better each year. As Nuffield’s Jakob Gavinsky put it, “regenerative” looks different in every country, but the unifying principle is constant improvement. It’s less about perfection, more about momentum.
The Rise of Farmer-Owned Data
One of the event’s standout initiatives? Nasda UK, assisted and powered by Trinity AgTech. It’s a bold new model giving farmers full control of their data—own it, share it on your terms, and get paid fairly. As James Shepherd of Knight Frank says, this is the “right model” to unlock value and trust. Angus Gowthorpe, a regenerative pioneer, sees it as essential for proving sustainability and monetising good practice. To be involved with the consultation phase of Nasda, just CLICK THIS LINK.

Agri-Tech as a “Frontier Sector”
Belinda Clarke OBE from Agri-TechE laid out the opportunity: agri-tech is now a UK “frontier sector” with growing government interest. Her team is driving this momentum, connecting innovation with farm profitability. Their REAP conference will feature Baroness Minette Batters, spotlighting how cutting-edge tech translates to real-world gains.
Fixing a Broken Food System
Henry Dimbleby didn’t hold back. Our food system is both a “miracle” and a “disaster,” he said—abundant, but dangerously dependent on inputs like nitrogen. In his panel with George Eustice and Justin King, the question was clear: Why can’t we fix it? King’s answer? A simple, provocative solution: a 5% tax on junk food ads to fund healthy food marketing.

Rethink UK Ag’s Global Role
Farmers like Martin Williams, Olly Harrison and Alli Ren urged UK agriculture to think bigger—stop worrying about imports and start exporting value. Holland does it. Why not the UK, with its world-class soil, rainfall, and sunshine?
It’s All About the Community
From the NASDA UK initiative to the Nuffield network, from Agri-TechE’s early-career forum to collaborative knowledge-sharing—this sector is fuelled by shared purpose. As always, it’s not just about tech or policy—it’s about people.
