What drives someone to dedicate their life to farming? What are the challenges facing British agriculture today? And what needs to happen to secure its future?
These are just some of the questions explored in Harvest, the new book from Baroness Minette Batters DL, which will be officially launched at Meon Springs on Thursday 9th July.
Part memoir, part manifesto and part rallying call, Harvest provides a powerful and personal insight into farming life, the challenges facing the sector and why British agriculture matters now more than ever.
Ahead of the launch event, Beanstalk Global recently caught up with Minette Batters and Jamie Butler of Meon Springs for a short video interview discussing the book, the inspiration behind it and the importance of sharing positive stories from across British agriculture. The interview will be released shortly.

We are also delighted to confirm that Beanstalk Global will be covering the official launch event at Meon Springs, where Minette will be discussing her journey, the motivations behind writing Harvest and her vision for the future of farming.
The event promises to bring together farmers, industry professionals, rural businesses and those with an interest in the future of food production for what is set to be a thought-provoking and inspiring evening.

Part of the People of the Land Tour
The event will also form part of our ongoing People of the Land tour as we continue travelling the UK capturing the images, stories and voices of the people behind British food production.
With more than 46 trade groups, organisations and charities already aligned to the initiative, People of the Land is building a positive visual record of the people, professions and communities that feed, grow and sustain our nation.
From farmers and growers to researchers, innovators, educators and industry leaders, the initiative seeks to celebrate the individuals whose work underpins the UK’s food system.
As we prepare for the wider launch of the platform later this summer, we look forward to sharing more stories from across the sector and highlighting the people who make British agriculture such a remarkable industry.
