After graduating with a degree in Agriculture the candidate worked in agri-business, food manufacturing and retail for the next 20 years in both South Africa and Europe.
Starting their career in product development and quality management in the South African fruit juice industry, they then moved to the UK to embark on a journey in fresh produce. Over the next eight years, they worked for some of South Africa’s biggest fruit exporters, gaining valuable experience in supply chain management, retail account management, category management, procurement, and technical management. Our candidate successfully set up and managed the UK office of a major South African fruit exporter.
In 2014 they started a food consulting company in South Africa that manages long term retail relationships, offers procurement services, and manages projects in the agricultural and food manufacturing industries.
Besides a proven track record in the fresh produce value chain, they also worked in the dried fruit and nut industry, held technical positions with a major UK retailer, and consulted for the International Finance Corporation on agricultural land reform in the South African fruit industry.
Our candidate is am analytical thinker with a positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
They are looking to add value in roles where they can combine their technical fruit knowledge with their commercial skills and their passion for building strong relationships across the supply chain.
Their extensive experience is supported by degree level education in Agriculture and Business Administration. They are fluent in Afrikaans and English and hold both South African and British nationalities.
