He is team player, with over 25 years’ experience in the fresh produce sector, drawing upon a diverse portfolio of roles which have garnered financial, operational & commercial experience.

An initial role in systems implementation, extracting & then using data for business analysis / improvement, built a fundamental understanding of how fresh produce businesses operate.

Skilled in the use of data analysis to drive process improvement & margin enhancement, helped him further demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem solving.

The ultimate outcome of these key learnings has been for our contact to focus on customer facing roles. Building experience across all sectors of the market – retail, foodservice and food manufacturing, developing & delivering sustainable new business, adding value & innovation.

Over time this has led to the management of many projects, across a wide range of products in the fresh produce sector including both own-label & private branded products & ranges. Leading the development of new brands from concept to shelf, including consumer panels, brand development, kitchen & process trials.

This has culminated in an extensive, sector-relevant network of contacts across growers, packers, packaging & machinery suppliers, logistics & customers.

More recently this experience & knowledge has been channelled into consultancy roles focusing primarily on business development for a cross section of well known, established companies in the fresh foods / produce sector from across the UK, Europe & the rest of the world.

This has evolved to encompass digital marketing, including website development & social media management to help drive & promote brand &/or business development.

Engaging, enthusiastic, & hardworking, this individual is used to managing projects to both deadlines & budgets. An experienced manager, well versed at interacting at all levels whilst demonstrating exemplary communication skills, ensuring key stakeholders are kept briefed & updated.

Used to travelling frequently all over the world to attend high-level meetings with customers, suppliers and growers and to attend the most important fairs and events in the fresh sector: Fruit Logistica, Fruit Attraction, Anuga, IFE (Various). Recent developments, have also seen
the increased use of video conferencing, maintaining information exchange without the reliance upon travel & face to face meetings.

In parallel, this individual has over 12 years Non-Exec Directorship Experience with a not-for-profit organisation, helping SME Businesses establish themselves within the Food Industry. Providing governance & guidance for both current & future strategies to help promote SME Food businesses in the UK.
