British Apples & Pears (BAPL) 2020 Trade Webinar

British Apples & Pears Ltd had planned a face to face briefing for key retail and trade representatives early in the season and despite Covid-19 they still wished to go ahead with the briefing for 2020which was held “virtually” via the Beanstalk social media platforms.

British apple and pear growers are confident heading into the 2020 season and despite the challenges presented by Covid 19 are determined to grow, pick and pack a perfect crop of British apples and pears this year. Farmers and growers are very resilient. It is shaping up to be a good growing season which together with excellent marketing plans designed to increase consumer awareness and demand for British apples and pears, means that 2020 will be another successful year for the sector. The webcast will further enlighten you to the exact details as to how this will be achieved so we would be very keen to for you to watch it through.

It was a great opportunity as can be seen to discuss the season ahead with growers and their representatives to hear about the planned investment and growth in the sector, the recruitment plans and the impact of Covid-19

As Ross Gotham of AC Goatham stated on the webcast “Our core and best market is here in the UK. We are investing in the technology and we have the ability … to grow our market share to the health and benefit of the consumer”.
